Local Financial Advisory Firm to Host Flooding Seminars

DiSanto, Priest & Company has formed a Disaster Relief Team of experts to answer questions relating to the income tax implications of casualty and disaster losses for individuals.  During each one hour seminar, experts will provide an overview of the income tax implications and answer frequently asked questions, such as:   ·        When should the deduction be taken?  ·        How can losses be deducted?  ·        What documentation is needed?  ·        How much is deductible? ·        What is deductible? Individuals attending the event will receive a tool kit filled with valuable information, including the Rhode Island Flood Recovery Resource Guide, information from the IRS’s Disaster Losses Kit for Individuals, as well as pertinent forms necessary for claiming disaster related casualty losses.  The Public information seminars will take place at DiSanto, Priest & Company, 117 Metro Center Boulevard, Suite 3000, Warwick, RI on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.  For more information and to register, visit www.disantopriest.com and click on “register for disaster relief seminar.”
Special Olympics Motorcycle Run

The Special Olympics Motorcycle Run

It's the largest motor cycle rally in the state.
It starts at Metro Collision on 181 Putnam Ave. in Johnston and ends at at the URI stadium, just in time for the start of the Special Olympics.
There will be a free pre-party during registration, which begins at 4:00 p.m.
Free T-shirts will be given out with payment of the mandatory $20.00 admission fee.
Entertainment will be provided by Run'n Wild Band.

Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olypmics
Friday, June 4th, 2010 (11:00 am)

Between 350 - 400 R.I. police, fire and correctional officers will cover over 100 miles.

Begins in Woonsocket and continues through Cumberland, Lincoln, Central Falls, Pawtucket, Providence, Cranston, warwick, East Greenwich, North Kingstown, South Kingstown, and into URI's Meade Stadium to light the cauldron signifying the start of the State Summer Games.

T-shirts will be sold. Donations are appreciated.
The fundraising goal is $200,000.

R.I. Special Olympics 42nd Annual State Summer Games
Friday, June 4th, 2010 (1:30 pm)
Over 1,500 athletes will "Inspire Greatness" as they compete in Athletics, Aquatics, Bowling, Cycling, Motor Activities Training Program, Powerlifting, and Unified Soccer.

The weekend's festivities will begin at the State House with runners representing Police, Fire, Corrections, State Troopers and FBI carrying the "Flame of Hope" Torch through various cities and towns to rhe University of Rhode Island.

"Be a Fan" and come be a part of what promises to be an exciting weekend of sports competition.
